The title appropriately describes the mood of this sweetheart, and might have been used to describe my own mood as well if I had obtained this in the wild. I did not, however, and was perfectly safe from this grumpy feline, so I was actually quite happy to get the shot.
I do hope to obtain some bona-fide wild photos of species like this, however, one of these days. They're exceptionally rare and timid, so this is a challenge.
Yet again at the NC Zoo (I have hundreds of photos from there), this female Puma (Felis concolor) was a longtime resident when a few new cubs were introduced. The were safe in another enclosure and completely out of sight, but still able to be scented, and my model was registering her displeasure at the potential intrusion to her territory. The staff, as always, were on-the-ball, however, and she was given ample time to get acclimated before there were any face-to-face meetings.
