Serendipity

 

I mentioned before under the tortoise pic, zoos can present opportunities that aren't available in the wild, especially to poor people like me that haven't even been overseas yet. I actively encourage their use to photographers, as long as they're not misrepresented.

Hanging out at the NC Zoological Park in Asheboro, looking for something different, this giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis) came wandering up purposefully from over the hill. My position allowed me to use some out-of-focus foreground grasses, and the angles of the grasses matching the giraffe's neck was a happy coincidence. The background highlights in the trees accentuating these lines only helped.
