What can I say? It's a log with fungus on it. But there has to be a better way of describing it…

Duke Forest outside of Durham NC, the same day as the colorful trees pic, but at this point the sun was behind heavy clouds. The muted light seemed to work for this composition, lowering contrast and letting the color variety come out.

Or maybe I'm just biased...
