Just another revisited color image, and another one that spent years up on my walls too. While I love the delicate colors of the original, it seems very strong in monochrome as well. Hmmm, another one with emphasis on the tones of the water -- am I seeing a pattern here?
Could just be because water shows a nice gradient, the transition in tone that makes B&W work, at least in my eyes. Not every image can be converted and seem interesting, and taking good photos in B&W requires a different approach to the levels of contrast you want to portray -- a kind of mindset, I guess. I'm still developing mine, but I think I'm coming along.
